After spending 15+ years in both radio and television, Dave Michaels realized a greater need for both image and branding in both fields.
In his time in radio, not only was Dave a radio personality, but also served in programming and promotions on several occasions. In television, his primary focus was that of the Art Director of news departments and stations alike.
He came to realize that though most radio stations are capable of creating great sound - they lacked the understanding, and generally the ability, to match those results when projecting their station's image through visual means of the Internet and other forms of graphic expression. However, he realized that television stations fought the opposite battle most of the time.
Dave's first passion was and still is audio. He spent much of his days in radio as the imaging director of several stations and for a long list of formats. He still attends to various imaging needs for several stations today.
Not too long after first starting in radio, he realized he could also use his graphic background as well. He served as a graphic designer for nearly every station he worked for, designing everything from the stations logos, sales packages, stationary, television spots, outdoor campaigns and even their vehicle wraps.
On his journey's back and forth between radio and television, he honed his graphic skills even more, along with animation and continuing to persue new ways to blend audio and visual together.
During one stint in television, he was nominated for an EMMY, and won a EMMA and ABC affiliate award. In radio, he was nominated several times for Addy's for things ranging from outdoor campaigns to vehicle wraps.
In December of 2003, Dave decided to go off on his own, and persue a new adventure of his own making. Originally just as Dave Michaels, then as Dave Michaels Radio Art - and now, unveiling Stationality™ to the radio and television broadcasting community.
Dave serves as the President/CEO of Stationality™, and leads a small, talented team of people to help him in his quest to make a difference for stations everywhere. And, little by litte... each day, he does just that.

Stationality is basically a station with personality. Originally, the term was tied more to the actual audio presentation of a station, but we firmly believe that it means much more than just what comes out of the speakers. And we stand by that.
We see the big picture of your station, not just the way it sounds. We also think of the way it looks and feels in the eyes of your audience. Our research of each of a stations competitors alone stands apart from every other company out there claiming to do design work for stations.
You and your station are NOT just another client or a paycheck for us. You become part of the family. Once you contact Stationality™, we take care of everything, no matter how big or small the task is.
We don't just offer you a logo or a site that has already been done. We don't do cookie-cutter, period. We deal with custom items, specifically to match your stations needs. Targeted at your audience directly. And we do it through a comprehensive look through your specific market before we do anything.
Bill Figenshu says that we are like an old world craftsman in the way we do what we do. There is no 8 hour day that we adhere to. If there is work to be done, Saturday and Sunday are not considered off days.
Dave Michaels leads the charge, and regardless of how many other people may work with him - he either designs or comes up with the inital design for everything, and watches over each and every project as though it were his own. He speaks with you directly, interviews you before doing any work, and starts jotting ideas down after hanging up the phone. He can be reached day or night, weekends, even holidays. Clients even get to have his cell phone number.
Needless to say, Dave has way too much caffeine on a daily basis, and hardly ever gets enough sleep. Maybe that's where all the creative spurts come from...
